Drake, a world-famous artist, still invests in eSports. The Canadian rapper, songwriter, actor and record producer is among those who have invested in Players ’Lounge, which hosts both online and offline tournaments. The eSports start-up has in fact received 3 million dollars in funding. Other investors who took part in the financing round are: Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-two Interactive, Marissa Mayer, former President and CEO of Yahoo, Comcast, macro Ventures, Canaan, RRE, and Courtside. Players ’Lounge is more oriented towards amateur players, rather than professional and semi-professional players and among the accepted means of competition: PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Drake, already in October 2018, became co-owner of the North American eSports organization 100 Thieves.
