Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced that Atlanta Esports Ventures will locate the headquarters of Atlanta Reign in Midtown Atlanta.

The facility is said to aid “in the creation of forty-five new jobs and an investment of $100,000,000” to help develop esports’ growing ecosystem in Atlanta.

Governor Kemp discussed the Overwatch League franchise’s headquarters in a release:

“We are proud to see Atlanta Reign expanding its footprint in Midtown with the opening of this new headquarters.

Atlanta is quickly becoming a hub for esports in the United States, and this announcement speaks to the strength of Georgia’s vibrant tech and entertainment industries.”

While the official release did not detail the exact location of the new facility, an October 22 report by Bisnow documents the purchase of a 13,200 sq foot commercial property in West Midtown Atlanta under the name Atlanta Reign.

Officials with Cox Enterprises and Province, Inc. declined to comment at the time of the purchase, which rang in at $2.27M according to CoStar records.

The news of Atlanta Reign’s forthcoming headquarters arrives at an exciting time amidst the city’s esports aspirations; in addition to Hi-Rez Expo and the launch of Atlanta Esports Alliance, this year’s DreamHack Atlanta is said to have achieved a record-breaking attendance of over 35,000 people.

Paul Hamilton, President and CEO of Atlanta Esports Ventures also commented: “The State of Georgia has been incredibly supportive of esports in Atlanta.

This type of hands-on collaboration with the region not only makes esports accessible to job seekers and fans, but it also assures us that there is no better place for esports than in Atlanta.

The thriving tech and entertainment industries in the city further prove that Atlanta is the right place for esports organizations and digitally savvy professionals to put down roots and succeed.”

Atlanta Esports Ventures recently announced Atlanta FaZe, a Call of Duty League franchise that’s co-owned by North American organization FaZe Clan. Esports Insider spoke to Hamilton about the franchise’s inception, the partnership with FaZe Clan, and entering the league.
