BLAST has entered an exclusive deal with Winstrike for the CIS broadcast and sponsorship rights of BLAST Premier. The deal sees Winstrike secure the broadcast rights in the CIS region for the BLAST Premier, a new competition that boasts a total prize pool of $4.25 million (£3.4 million) for 2020.
Winstrike will broadcast BLAST Premier on television, online, and across theatrical platforms with its coverage of the BLAST Premier 2020 in the CIS region. The deal also grants the agency with exclusive sponsorship, betting, and marketing rights in the region.
Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST commented on the agreement in a release: “We are very happy with this new broadcast agreement and to expand our partnership with Winstrike. We had a great partnership with Winstrike during BLAST Pro Series Moscow in September and we are looking very much forward to expanding our presence in CIS with BLAST Premier in 2020.
“This deal further cements BLAST as the go-to proposition for broadcasters, sponsors and fans across the esports world. Some of the best players and most engaged fans come from the CIS region and we are delighted to be able to bring them more Counter-Strike and more engaging content.”
This deal is a continuation of a previous partnership between BLAST and Winstrike, having previously co-produced BLAST Pro Series Moscow in September. Winstrike handled local and regional production for the event.
Lina Komkova, CEO of Winstrike Agency also weighed in on the deal: “We are thrilled to step into a new phase of partnership with BLAST. After having BLAST Pro Series in Moscow in 2019 which was a huge success, this step is a logical evolution of our relationships into strategic partnership covering media rights for Russian broadcast and content in CIS market for the whole BLAST Premier in 2020 as well as expansion of BLAST license aimed at development of CIS market for BLAST through regional championships and other possible products under BLAST IP.”
TV 2 Denmark renewed its licensing deal with BLAST earlier this month to see it acquire the exclusive Danish broadcast rights for BLAST Premier.
