Simplicity and Gaming Company has announced gaming peripherals maker Redragon as the latest sponsor for its Flamengo Esports brand.

Redragon, which makes devices such as headsets, keyboards, and mice, joins other Flamengo Esports sponsors such as Adidas and Twitch.

Roman Franklin, President of Simplicity Esports, commented in a release:

“I am excited to announce the signing of another corporate sponsor for our team. Redragon is a well-known global brand that sells its products in 30 countries on four continents. We value all of our official partners and sponsors, and their financial commitments that contribute to the success of Flamengo Esports. This will be a mutually beneficial sponsorship arrangement that prominently displays the Redragon brand on our jersey sleeve.”

Flamengo Esports, established in 2017, is the official videogames team of the Brazilian esports team Clube de Regatas do Flamengo.

In January, Simplicity Esports announced that it had reached an agreement to take over management of Flamengo Esports, which competes in Riot Games’ Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLoL) league and participated in last year’s League of Legends World Championship.

Simplicity Esports also operates esports gaming centers.

Last week, the company announced that it had secured a $500,000 (£425,080) investment from Triton Funds, and in February the company announced that it had sold three additional gaming center franchise territories in the United States.

MORE ABOUT FLAMENGO ESPORTS

Flamengo is a Brazilian team, the division of the traditional sports team CR Flamengo. Following the partial acquisition by Los Grandes, they renamed it Flamengo Los Grandes.

The team was created on late 2017 as a branch of the traditional football club CR Flamengo. Initial roster included JisuSirTEvrotBrTT and EsA, and made its first appearance on BRCC 2018 Split 1. As runner-ups, they classified for the Access Series and made it to brazil’s first division by winning over Team oNe eSports. The Esports team inherited lots of supporters from its football club, and its initial investment was frequently recognized by CBLOL‘s casters as a big step up for Esports in Brazil.

Starting in 2020, Flamengo Esports operations are managed by Simplicity Esports.

Flamengo players and supporters often refer to themselves as “nação rubro-negra” (red-and-black nation).
